Studies of astrophysical non-LTE media require the combination of atomic and molecular spectroscopic and collisional data often described differently in various databases. SPECTCOL is a client tool that implements VAMDC (Virtual Atomic and Molecular Data Center) standards, retrieve spectroscopic information from CDMS, JPL, HITRAN databases and collisional data from BASECOL. The spectroscopic and collisional information is combined and useful outputs (ascii, xsams, RADEX) are provided for the study of the interstellar medium. In addition the tool allows to scale the collisional rate coefficients and to extract bibliographic information on both spectroscopic and collisional rate coefficients, thus facilitating referencing in publications. -
BASECOL Submit
Authors = Vicente R. Muñoz, Otoniel Denis-Alpizar
BASECOL-Submit is a web-based tool designed to assist producers of collisional rate coefficients in the submission of their published datasets to the BASECOL database.
The integration of new collisional rate coefficients into BASECOL has traditionally required manual formatting and direct communication with the database team. BASECOL-Submit streamlines this process by providing a structured interface where data producers can upload and format their rate coefficients following VAMDC metadata standards (molecular system, collider, temperature range, quantum levels, method, and references). Once submitted, datasets are curated by the BASECOL team and a validation link is sent back to the data producers for their approval. Data are made publicly available in the database only upon confirmation by the producers.
